Psychologist, Researcher & Writer

Maarit Lassander, MSci, PhD

Born in a small coastal village in northern Finland, my journey has taken me from selling flowers to conducting research at preeminent universities and implementing behavioral science initiatives at central government. This journey has taught me that meaningful change happens when we combine rigorous research with real human experience.

As a psychologist, researcher, and author, I bridge the gap between academic insights and practical solutions. My work spans behavioral science and policy implementation, mindfulness research and program development, financial psychology and well-being, as well as international policy development (collaborations with WHO, UN, OECD).

My research focuses on creating tangible positive change: developing mindfulness programs for Finnish schools, implementing behavioral science initiatives in government policy, conducting research on financial well-being and decision-making and leading international collaborations on social impact.

My academic background is PhD in Psychology and MSci in Political Science in University of Helsinki, Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and Specialist in Health Psychology, Visiting Researcher, Yale University and London School of Economics and Political Science, Marie Curie Alumni.

Researcher, Strategist & Writer

Mika Lassander, FM, PhD.

I received a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the Open University, UK in 2010. My main interest is social-psychological approaches to studying people's world-view and values, e.g. using Shalom Schwartz's value model to survey individuals' value priorities and Faith Q-Sort to map world-view types. My work focuses on translating complex research insights into practical business solutions. With experience spanning international research organizations and private consulting, I help organizations understand the psychological factors driving decision-making and behavior.

I adapt our research services to focus on understanding the psychological factors influencing financial decision-making and well-being in the workplace. I explore the role of organizational culture, expectations, and unconscious biases in shaping employee experiences and outcomes. And I investigate the link between personal and planetary well-being, helping organizations foster a sense of purpose and environmental responsibility among their employees.

My key areas of expertise include: market research methodology, organizational culture analysis, environmental psychology, decision-making research and statistical modelling.
